David Stupples is Professor of Electronic and Radio Systems at City, University of London and Director of Electronic Warfare Systems Research. He is a scientific advisor to the UK Intelligence Services on Electronic Intelligence (ELINT), Cyber Intelligence and secure communications systems. He is also a member of the Defence Scientific Council (DSAC) and has scientific and engineering connections with a number of companies specialising in Radar and communications applications. He began his working career in the Royal Air Force concentrating on electronic systems. He moved to research and development at the Royal Radar Establishment (RRE and later RSRE) Malvern, then to Hughes Aircraft Corporation in California, and then on to NATO research. He has a particular focus in electronic intelligence and communications intelligence employed on both airborne and satellite platforms. He continues a watching brief on future communications and surveillance systems.
