Luang Prabang - Boun Hor Khao Padapdin, Morning Market ... | Laos With Locals EP. 10

This is our last day in Luang Prabang. Our train departs from 12:52 PM and we schedule car and driver to pick us up at our hotel at 11:00 AM. Today is Boun Hor Khao Padapdin (annual festival). We got up at 06:00 AM to walk around the festival in the morning until 07:30 AM then have breakfast at our hotel. I have work from 08:00 AM - 09:00 AM so let my parents enjoyed their dinner at the hotel by themslevs. After finishing my work, I had breakfast and swam in the pool before leaving the hotel for train station.

The hotel costs us $70 a night. We spent 2 nights here.
We hired our private car from this hotel to the train station and it costs 200,000 Kip one way
This is the same car and driver we had yesterday
On the website, the hotel charges $10-$15 one way and it costs me more roughly about $90 if I book this hotel through booking.com

The festival is around our hotel and about 1-2 minutes walk from our hotel
we can walk to the right or left from our hotel

It's about 15KM ride away from Luang Prabang City Center which is about 20-30 minutes drive depending on traffic condition. It surpsied me when the driver already paid 10,000 kip to drive the car inside the train station parking lot but need to spend 10,000 kip more to the guard to drop us off in front of the station. Not all cars are allowed to drive up there only when you pay extra only.
The govenrment's aprroved van costs 300,000 per group and 40,000 per person for shared van (max 12 pax)
