How To Remove 78-82 Corvette DOOR PANELS

Описание к видео How To Remove 78-82 Corvette DOOR PANELS

Removing a 1978-1982 C3 Corvette door panel is an easy DIY project that most owners can do in their garage in under an hour.

Whether you want to replace old panels with new parts, clean, detail, paint the originals, or make some basic repairs inside the door, knowing how to remove the panels is a must.

The ones on my 81 Corvette are okay for the most part, but dirty and showing their 40+ year age. The driver's side panel was branded by a careless previous owner with a cigarette burn. Unfortunately, new panels are out of the question.

By the way, imported cars have door "cards." American vehicles have door "panels." LOL

Lastly, do not assume that all the hardware securing the panel to the door will be correct. As I show in the video, someone decided to use machine flat-head screws on mine, and only after wasting a lot of time trying to remove them with a Phillips screwdriver it occurred to me to look there with a flashlight.

I will replace those flat-head screws with Phillips-head screws. And incidentally, I have nothing against using hardware-bought screws, nuts, or bolts, as long as they emulate the factory hardware as closely as possible.

I hope you find the video helpful.

Thank you for watching! 🙂👍🏻
