I've wanted to forge a pair of Ashiko to keep for some time. Today (or that day) is that day. the claws of this tool are forged from a high-carbon steel harvested from an old piece of farm equipment. the steel for the bands is a simple mild steel. the steel is heated with a charcoal forge, it's a simple design that can melt steel easily. I won't go into every single little detail, but there is a lot that I cover in this video.
