Class begins with a typical section through a steel frame office tower. Features include raised floors to accommodate utilities, dropped ceiling plenum for HVAC, lighting and other utilities, Steel frame can be erected without waiting for other trades. So called tenant work follows later. As the frame grows, crawler cranes are replaces by tower cranes. The is a discussion of how tower cranes climb and specifically how the climb on the steel frame inside the building. Climbing cranes inside the original World Trade Center are also illustrated.
