Wednesday(7/3/2018) :- After traveling around the world in 24 country's since its founding in 2006 and making a splash in Jaipur and Delhi, the global exhibition-cum-conservation initiative Elephant Parade arrived in Mumbai on Sunday. The exhibition was opened at the Gateway of India on Sunday(5/3/2018). Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi, who is the founder of People for Animals, and MP Poonam Mahajan, who is the Parade ambassador inaugurated the function at the Gateway of India..A view of some of the 101 Elephant sculptures at "WORLI SEAFACE PROMENADE" in Mumbai. These Sculptures are being displayed all across South Mumbai later shifting to other parts of the city and on view till Sunday(18/3/2018)..The Elephant Parade India’s goal is to draw attention to the dwindling population of the Asian Elephant and, in partnership with the Wildlife Trust of India, to secure 101 elephant corridors across India. These corridors are vital connections between forested areas that allow elephants and other wild animals to move freely.The sculptures are part of the India edition of Elephant Parade, an 11-year-old initiative. Each work is designed and painted by a different artist, and will eventually be auctioned to raise money to build 101 elephant corridors (secure passages for the animals to pass) across India.Around the world, the Elephant Parade has collaborated with prominent people such as Richard Branson, Katy Perry, Tommy Hilfiger, Elizabeth Hurley and Bryan Adams.
