LaZouche Custom airsoft TM Colt Series 70 Nickel plated GBB review

As you know by now I dislike 'out of the box' reviews, however the latest offering by Tokyo Marui deserved an early look see purely because of its long awaited and anticipated release into the UK airsoft market.

The airsoft pistol:
The Colt Mk IV Series 70 Nickel plated 1911. WOW!!!!! Yes its a beauty and worth every penny saved for it. I purchased mine from:

TM had mould line and finish issues with nickel plated pistols in the past such as their P226, Desert Eagle and Detonics but have now laid them firmly to rest with the new Series 70 version. Its devoid of all blemishes, other than my drooling puddling on its surface everytime I handle it, with even the controls and fixtures looking every bit the part of a well healed 'bling' pistol to hang on a wall or shown off at a drop of a hat.
In the box, which is inset with a plush blue velvet cloth, you get the gun, magazine, usual cleaning rod, box of BBs, manual and bushing wrench plus a couple of mag follower plugs allowing you to fire the pistol without the slide locking back as it dissables the slidelock function with no BBs in the mag.
The outer barrel and chamber is silvered steel in finish, with authentic machined lines adorning its entire length. Markings are accurate and it even has a different serial number to the earlier Series 70 TM released, which I think is a nice detail touch.
The barrel bushing is the colleted version which is correct to the RS type. The hammer is is fully silver along with the slide lock, grip safety, thumb safety, trigger, MSH and mag release. The guide rod plug is also done in nickel plate. The internals are pretty much all silver finished but for a few items such as the hop unit and guide rod. The BBH and inner frame are all silver.
The grips are the same as were fitted to the earlier version with Colt gold medallions inset in faux wood checkered grips. Pity as I would have loved to of seen either fake Pearl or Ivory grips adorning this beauty but you carn't have everything I suppose.
The magazine is also very nicely nickel plated but does suffer from the base plate being brushed steel effect.

Conclusion:
Though a tad expensive for what is essentially just a 1911, overall its a worthy purchase. An extremely nice finish. Great accuracy and range out of the box. TM build quality and reliability as standard and a chance to own a blinged version of the classic iconic pistol that is the M1911. Recommended.

I will be doing another follow up review in a year or so's time, to see just how it fairs on reliability and wear, so stay tuned. Thanks for watching guys and girls and remember...

Stay sharp but stay safe ;-)
