History of Trigance

The original castle was located at the summit of Biach, at an altitude of 1,100 meters. In the 13th century, the Count of Provence held rights here. In the 14th century, in 1342, the community of Trigance was incorporated into the Castellane vicariate by the Count of Provence.

In the 17th century, Trigance was divided among co-owners, a characteristic feature of many Provençal towns of that period. In 1970, the nearby Canjuers military camp, one of the largest in Europe, was established. In 1997, the Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon was created, emphasizing the importance of preserving this unique region.
