Ecoutez - Percayalah & Simpan Saja | JGTC Showcase

Écoutez (French for “listen”) is an Indonesian music group established in 2005. Currently, the group consists of Sheila (vocalist), Jay (Drum), Ayi (Guitar), Leo (Bass), and Iyas (Keyboard). Since their debut, Écoutez has released three albums: Ekute, POSITIVe, and éVOLUTION. The band enlivens the Indonesian music scene with their easy-listening pop-jazz tunes.

This special performance consists of iconic hits from their first album “Ekute” (2006) namely: “Percayalah” and “Simpan Saja”. While “Percayalah” talks about letting go of unrequited love, “Simpan Saja” is an angst-filled break-up tune expressing an exhausting relationship.

Through this showcase, Écoutez and The 44th Jazz Goes to Campus would like to encourage you to participate in the JGTC #PeduliSesama campaign to assist health workers and individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
