Volunteer

If you have an hour or two to spare anytime and you’d like to help out with activities at the site do get in touch with us. There is always plenty to do and we depend on volunteers to keep the orchard going. This winter we will be carrying on opening up the scrub alongside the steam at the back of both fields. This will let in light which in turn will help to increase biodiversity of plants and animals in this area.

This work has to be carried out in the winter when birds are no longer nesting and we can, at the same time, create ‘dead hedges’ to provide cover and shelter for small mammals, insects and other organisms, using the cut material.
Its a great way to get some exercise and there’s no danger of getting cold!
