World number 3 and first French in the Match-Racing Open, Maxime Mesnil opens up to ocean racing, participating in the next edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race.

Racing onboard the J/99 Axe Sail, Maxime will race with the same crew he is used to racing with on the match-racing circuit.

Originally from Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, the arrival in his hometown is a project that stimulates him: "The open sea is part of Cherbourg's roots and being able to participate in this race which will arrive here is a superb opportunity!"
