I have to say, both weapons are really good. CMP is a fast gun, dealing damages incredibly fast, but the gun spreads like a guy trying to pee with a boner, it just goes everywhere. AK5 is one of my favorites gun in this game. Powerful, precise enough, big magazine and lots of bullets. Perfect for violent and long heists ( like Watchdogs )

The AK5 is a weapon obtained in Payday 2. Damage of the AK5 is equivalent to the first AK available, but the rate of fire goes up on this version. When at stock, the recoil, mobility, etc is very similar to that of the JP36; the damage is higher, but the accuracy is lower. If deciding between the AK5 or the JP36, the decision depends most on rather damage or accuracy is the main desire. Even at stock, this gun performs well, especially at medium ranges. Since it carries a decent amount of ammo (150 total), it also works fairly well in longer assaults. The mods for this tend to allow the weapon to go one of two ways, lower recoil, higher accuracy, or more mobility while lower accuracy and greater recoil. This changes the AK5 to be either a long range fully automatic or a room clearing assault gun.
Although the damage is less than that of the AK 762, the rate of fire does put the dps higher. With the suppression abilities of the Enforcer, this gun is also great in street clearing situations by causing SWATs to duck down.

For a secondary weapon to pair this with, anything tends to work well. The rate of fire and overall accuracy of the AK5 means that any secondary that can augment what the specific heist calls for will work. After modifying the AK5, some of the secondary weapons tend to work better than others. The Locomotive Shotgun can easily pick up a lot of close range damage when the AK5 is set up for long range.
