I shared my firsthand account of being kidnapped and imprisoned by Israeli forces after joining the humanitarian flotilla to Gaza — an effort to break Israel’s illegal blockade and deliver aid to Palestinian civilians. For six days, I was beaten, starved, and denied medication while being held alongside other activists from around the world. We were called “terrorists,” forced to stare at Israeli flags, and shown October 7th footage on repeat — psychological warfare meant to break us. I talk about what really happened on that boat, how Israel treats anyone — even Jewish Americans — who speak out for Palestinian lives, and how this experience permanently changed my understanding of Zionism, power, and propaganda. Hasan and I also discuss the global media silence, the U.S. government’s complicity, and what it means to wake up politically when you’ve spent a lifetime being told a single narrative about Israel and “safety for Jews.”
