With a council plaque suddenly appearing, reporter Philomena Snarkington returns to the scene, raising eyebrows and questions. Where did the sculpture really come from? And why do all paths — quite literally — seem to point to Gilgai?

At the centre of the intrigue is an organisation known only as NEWTS. Officially, they specialise in Wooden Giftware and a sculpture walk. Unofficially… well, that’s harder to explain. Are they simply eccentric artists? Or is the giftware just a convenient cover for something stranger?
