AICTE established the SNQ or Supernumerary Quota to allow students from economically weaker backgrounds to get admission into engineering colleges across India at reduced tuition fees. If you have a rank in any of the entrance exams and your family income is less than Rs. 6 lakhs per year, you are automatically eligible for the SNQ quota. The seats are allotted under the SNQ purely based on the merit lists and ranks. All candidates including General Merit candidates are eligible for Supernumerary quota seats.
