Inside The Warringah Yard Pt 1

The first Tuesday after my first day at URM, I dropped by the yard at the council depot to hand in some paperwork having just started working there. I ended up taking an enormous clip which gave an overview of the early fleet way back in late 2009. I was going to upload this video, however, after reviewing it a couple of times I decided to produce the enormous clip again. So well over a year into the contract I jumped on my bike one Sunday afternoon and rode to work again with the cameras, waited around for the public bins truck to turn up and took care of business.

The coincidental thing about the weekend I shot this footage, was that basically all the trucks I captured in the original video were back again, so I didn't miss out on anything, rather I got more than I bargained for! In the original video I shot the yard was quite empty with basically just the Warringah trucks present and everything looking still quite presentable. Now comes a video showing the place later into the contract with a parked out yard, heaps of foreign trucks and the fleet looking much different from the second half of 2009.

Exactly 32 trucks make up the equipment registered under the Warringah operations, which includes 3 mini rear loaders, 5 large rear loaders, 4 large side loaders, 19 standard sized side loaders and a little bin delivery truck. This fleet has been made up by trucks from Sutherland, Gosnells, Stirling and Hornsby councils, along with some from other URM yards and a handful of them brand new, then I am sure there are other contributors who I am not aware of. One thing I love about working here is the vast range of trucks in the fleet, with trucks built way back in the year 2000, others brand new and then all the different sizes and models.
