Dastardly, black-garbed Professor Fate (Jack Lemmon) dares the world's greatest hero, The Great Leslie (Tony Curtis), to a cross-continental road race across the Wild West, through frozen Alaska and into the Kingdom of Carpania. Fate sets a series of nefarious traps for Leslie, but neither plans on the indefatigable suffragette Maggie DuBois--the object of both Leslie's and Fate's affection--to enter the race, determined to strike a blow for feminism.
