Moon Cradle

A piobaireachd form piece in five sections, inspired by the late Charlie Banacos, world renowned Jazz Educator and inspirational teacher. Scored for Four bagpipe players, String Quartet, Vocal Quartet, Organ, Guitar, Dancers.
Section 1 (Ground) = majesty, greatness, seriousness, endeavor, stature.
Section 2 (Thumb) = Music
Section 3 (Taorluath) = Technical mastery, precision in technique, persistence
Section 4 (Crunluath) = Faster, faster, faster, pupils emulating their teacher, dedication
Section 5 (Coda) = Remembrance, Thankfulness, Respect.
Composed by Janette Montague, not a pupil of Charlie Banacos, but witness to his personality and teachings, through the contents of brown bubbled envelopes with audio taped lessons, which arrived fortnightly through her letter box over a twelve year period.
