About Sikshana Series “Dance Antakshari”

At Sikshana Series, Antakshari gets a new perspective. Instead of Singing Songs, we are bringing you a “Dance Antakshari”. A game show exclusively for Indian classical dance.

In the first round, game is played among the students of the same school. Then the last letter of the dance song is passed to the next school like the regular Antakshari. One kid will be selected from each school to play Round-2 and will be decided by viewers voting.

In Episode 2, the previous school ended their last letter with “Na” . so Episode 3 will be starting with Letter “Na”

For Episode 3, We have Naatiya Samarpanam Academy of Dance New Jersey, USA, Disciples of “Natya Kala Choodamani Jayalakshmi Radhakrishnan” to continue the game.

A Bharatanatyam dance school (in Kalakshetra Bani) with the mission to spread art, tradition and culture in its true dimension. We operate at North & South Edison, Fords, & Journal Sq. areas of Central Jersey.

Naatiya Samarpanam Academy of Dance LLC is led by Mrs. Jayalakshmi Radhakrishnan, a well- known Bharatanatyam artist and a television personality from southern India. She is a student of Kalaimamani. Thiru. S.K Kameshwaran and Smt. Saroja Kameshwaram. She is backed by 24+ years of experience in the field of dance. She is an MFA in Bharatanatyam from Bharathidasan University. Known for her versatility and grace, she is a very intuitive Choreographer and has composed many challenging and unique items of Margam. Jayalakshmi also leads a dance ensemble called “Rudhraksh” with set of professionals’ and senior students. She is “Natya Kala Choodamani” title awardee by Gana Mukundapriya trust.

Naatiya Samarpanam is affiliated with Tamil University Cultural Center, Thanjavur to provide Grade Certification program in Music and Bharatanatyam which is recognized globally as it a grant from Central government of India. This opportunity has been thoroughly welcomed by parent-student community. At our institution we believe art comes through constant dedication, practice and discipline. One should be committed and enjoy all the details of it.

Sowjanya Nirmalbabu Deepa
Grade; 9th Grade
Years of Dance experience: 6+ years.

She has been learning under the tutelage of Smt. Jayalakshmi Radhakrishnan at Naatiya Samarpanam for the last 5 years. She is one of the promising young talents of the dance institution.

Competitions: Natya Spardha 2018, Sri Guruvayurappan temple, NJ Others

Vinaya Vittal
Grade; 7th Grade
Years of Dance experience: 5+ years.

She has been learning under the guidance of Smt. Jayalakshmi Radhakrishnan at Naatiya Samarpanam for the last 3 years. She says, “My guru always makes sure that I am focused and completely aware of all the adavus, items, and expressions.”

Competitions: MAMTG (Mid-Atlantic Music Teacher’sGuild), MEA (Music Educators Association), NFMC (National Federation of MusicClubs) and the MLK Oratory Contest.

Monisha Thiyagaraj
Education: Rising 8th grader @ Webb Bridge Middle School, Alpharetta
Years of dance experience: 5+

She has been learning Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Guru Smt. Jayalakshmi Radhakrishnan for the past one year. Jayalakshmi ma’am provides many different opportunities for students to challenge themselves in many aspects of dance. Monisha has also been learning Carnatic Music for 4+ years.

Competitions: Natya Spardha 2019 at Guruvayurappan Temple, NJ. Other
