Sydney Trains on the Bankstown Line; Pre-Metro Conversion August 2024 [4K]

Описание к видео Sydney Trains on the Bankstown Line; Pre-Metro Conversion August 2024 [4K]

In this video we do some trainspotting at various locations on the Bankstown Line in Sydney's south west. The Bankstown Line will between Sydenham and Bankstown will soon be closed for over 12 months as its converted into a Sydney Metro Line, meaning that Sydney Trains suburban services on the line will soon be a thing of the past.

I filmed this video on a Saturday in August 2024 prior to the closure of the line, where we see Sydney Trains services along the line. Most of the trains we see are Waratah EMU's, but we do see a couple of sneaky NSW Trainlink empty Endeavour DMU transfers throughout the video, plus a couple of freight trains towards the end.

The stations we visit are:

0:00 Intro
2:39 Bankstown
11:58 Punchbowl
22:13 Wiley Park
33:28 Lakemba
39:19 Belmore
47:55 Campsie
55:05: Hurlstone Park

We don't visit Canterbury, Dulwich Hill, or Marrickville in this video as those stations have their own videos:

Canterbury:    • Trains at Canterbury; Afternoon Peak ...
Dulwich Hill:    • Trains & Light Rail at Dulwich Hill d...
Marrickville: (to be uploaded very soon)

The Metro conversion works will see the existing Sydney Metro line from Tallawong to Sydenham extended to Bankstown. All stations on the route will be upgraded with platform screen doors and platform gap fillers, while signalling and overhead systems will be completely overhauled to be compatible with the Metro rollingstock.

The closure of the Bankstown Line between Sydenham and Bankstown will begin on the 30th September 2024.
