Carmen Xtravaganza was a trans woman born in Spain but living in NYC most of her adult life, who became famous in the lgbt ballroom scene. She was an "impossible/wicked beauty" and was featured in the iconic 1990 film Paris Is Burning. She was a House Mother to House of Xtravaganza, which was the first Latino house in NYC. She changed the lives of so many people with her beauty, courage, determination, and support. Unfortunately, she lost to a battle of cancer this month of August 2023 at age 62.
Rip. But we know her soul lives on!!
