Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea 崖の上のポニョ (Gake no Ue no Ponyo) originates from the enchanting Studio Ghibli film "Ponyo”. The film tells the heartwarming story of five-year-old Sosuke and a goldfish named Ponyo, enveloping viewers in Hideo Miyazaki's signature imaginative world. With the shifting dynamics and playful melodies, the music immerses us in Ponyo's journey to fulfill her dream of becoming human.

SMU Guitarissimo is Singapore Management University's resident Niibori guitar ensemble. Established in August 2000, SMU Guitarissimo started with a small group of enthusiastic undergraduate students who shared the same passion for guitar. Over the years, we have grown into a full ensemble, and proudly count ourselves as one of SMU's oldest musical groups. The Italian superlative "-ssimo" speaks to the club's aspiration to establish itself as one of the premier guitar ensembles in Singapore.

Under the guidance of our resident conductor, Mr Ow Leong San, SMU Guitarissimo has performed on campus and in concerts at the Esplanade with our biggest performance being the annual Strings Blended series. SMU Guitarissimo has also had the privilege to perform with distinguished partners at overseas concerts in Taiwan and Japan.
