Featuring B'Tselem's work on human rights for Palestinians

Описание к видео Featuring B'Tselem's work on human rights for Palestinians

In this month's Make Your Mark series, we profile Sarit Michaeli from Israeli Human Rights NGO, B'Tselem. Sarit and the B'Tselem team work to document human rights violations related to Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories.

We discuss the challenges inherent to this work within Israeli society, and hear perspectives on Israel’s policies, international obligations, and the challenges faced by Palestinians in shaping their future. Featuring discussions on the moral responsibility to pursue justice, this conversation emphasises the critical question: Where do we go from here to build a better future for all.

We're grateful for the work that organisations such as B'Tselem, PCHR, Al Haq and others do to improve human rights in Israel and Palestine. 💚

Two important clarifications: this conversation was recorded in July 2024, though it's depressing how little has changed since. Also, many Palestinians with Israeli citizenship prefer to self-describe as Palestinian Citizen of Israel (rather than Israeli Arab which is how they're presented by the Israeli State which serves to erase the Palestinian identity); a smaller number have used the term Palestinian-Israeli.
