Throughout history, leaders have brought together members of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to accomplish shared goals. In these situations, time is the most precious resource because leaders must prioritize actions within finite time constraints. Having led diverse organization members, U.S. Army Major Robert R. Hayward II defined effective leadership striking a balance between accomplishment and organizational development based on a leadership philosophy.

Robert R. Hayward II is the owner and founder of The Hayward Global Group, LLC, a Texas-based consulting firm specializing in international development and government contracting. For 12 years, Hayward served in the U.S. Army as a commissioned officer and aviator, reaching the rank of Major. He earned his commission from Grambling State University, where he was nationally recognized as a distinguished military graduate, an honor bestowed upon the top 10% of commissioned second lieutenants entering their military service. With a strong passion for leadership, Hayward commanded on three combat occasions in Afghanistan and Iraq. During his service, he earned a Meritorious Service Medal and a Bronze Star Medal. After completing his M.B.A. at NSU, Hayward plans to pursue a J.D. to further prepare for advanced public service and diplomatic pursuits with an emphasis in fostering the welfare of U.S. national security through foreign economic development and investment.
