The time has come to go beyond discussions of cost-per-base and throughput, and consider questions of information content, accuracy, data burden, and clinical utility.

Positional sequencing was developed by an algorithms-first approach with all of these metrics in mind.

Whatever question the researcher (or ultimately clinician) has about the genome (including everything from SNPs to aneuploidies), positional sequencing asks directly and returns only the answers to the questions that were asked.
