I built this Class 3B laser out of spare parts and reusable components. The open-canister diode was hand-extracted from an old DVD-RW drive. All of the materials used are only what I have on hand and is consistent of a linear setup driven by PWM constant current regulation.

Do not attempt this yourself! High powered lasers are very dangerous and could cause serious injury if improperly handled.
