This meeting of the National Taskforce for Polio Eradication in Islamabad marks Bill Gates' second visit to Pakistan. His first visit was in February 2022, where he met then-Prime Minister Imran Khan on a special invitation.

In the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the collaborative efforts of the federal and provincial governments, who are working in unison to eradicate polio. He proudly noted that five comprehensive polio eradication campaigns have been conducted in the past six months, showing a steadfast commitment to this cause.
