In a historic first for Uttar Pradesh, a women-led police team in Ghaziabad conducted an armed encounter, arresting a known criminal. Led by ACP Upasana Pandey and officer Ritu Tyagi, the female team spotted a suspicious scooter during night patrol. When signaled to stop, the suspect fled and opened fire after falling. The officers fired back, injuring him. The accused, Jitendra, has over eight robbery cases. Police recovered a pistol, stolen scooter, phone, and tablet.
