The Gavril Roamer is an older SUV, and with that comes lower expectations, but crash performance is surprisingly good for a vehicle of it's age. The front crash structure holds up reasonably well in the moderate and full overlap tests, but fails in the small overlap test due to the lack of structure outboard of the frame. Because the vehicle sits high off the ground, it has an advantage in the side impact test. Much of the energy was sent directly into the floor, reducing the deformation of the B-pillar and cabin overall. There is no apparent rear crash structure on the Roamer, therefore much of the impact energy is sent through the rest of the car. In a higher severity collision, cabin deformation could be catastrophic due to the lack of rear crumple zone. Overall, the Roamer is impressive for it's age.
