2/9/17 - TheTechTrader.com - Allegheny Technologies Incorporated (ATI) looks like it started to move late in the day on Thursday. It had a big run-up in the morning, and consolidated in the afternoon, closing up 71 cents, or 3.48%, to 21.11, on 2.95 million shares traded. I like the looks of it. It’s ready to pop out of a flag. Targets are 23 1/2-3/4, 26, and ultimately at the top of the channel in the mid 30’s could be had. It has 13.6 days to cover.
Clovis Oncology Inc (CLVS) just keeps climbing. On Thursday, it was up 1.72, or 2.7%, to 65.13, on 1.8 million shares traded. The near-term channel within a larger channel, and the recent pullback, looks like it afforded an opportunity to enter. Resistance is at 66-7, and if it gets through that, the target is going to be 74.
Exelixis, Inc. (EXEL) continues to climb the ladder. It was up another 89 cents, or 4%, to 22.50, on 7.5 million shares traded on Thursday. It looks like this stock wants to be headed up towards 30. It did hit my swing target on Thursday at 22. The next target is 25. It has 2.7 days to cover.
The GEO Group, Inc. (GEO), a swing trade of ours, is phenomenal. After it popped and pulled back into that 29-30 range we gave you it as a swing, It has now reached 43, and is still running. The channel on Thursday broke out of a coil on a price-volume surge, up 1.38, or 3.3%, to 43.18, on 664,456 shares traded. Volume increased a little, but not enough. I expect it to reach the 44 1/2, and then 45 1/2 zone short-term. It has 3.75 days to cover.
