To restrict or block someone on Instagram, go to their profile. Then tap the three dots in the top right corner. To limit interactions from someone with your Instagram page without blocking them, select Restrict. This will hide their comments on your posts from other users, and put their messages to you in your Message Requests rather than your main inbox. Restricted users will still be able to follow you and see your posts. Tap Restrict Account to confirm. To block a user, tap the three dots, then select Block. You can block this account and new pages they may create, or just this account. To confirm, tap Block at the bottom. Once you block someone, they will be removed from your following and followers lists and will no longer be able to see your profile or posts, or contact you through Instagram in any way.

To unrestrict or unblock a user on Instagram, go to their profile, tap the three dots in the top right corner, then select Unrestrict or Unblock. Note that if you’ve blocked a follower, unblocking them will not put them back on your following and followers lists. They will be able to see your posts and profile again if they look you up, but they will have to choose to follow you again in order to get back into your list of followers. You can tap Follow to re-follow them if you wish.
