Über LCARS:
LCARS (engl. Abkürzung: Library Computer Access and Retrieval System, zu dt. etwa: Zugriffs- und Abfragesystem des Bibliothekscomputers) wird seit dem späten 23. Jahrhundert in der Föderation und der Sternenflotte als Betriebssystem der Computer, insbesondere des Bibliothekscomputers, verwendet. Es wird über Konsolen und über Spracheingaben gesteuert.

The Library Computer Access and Retrieval System (LCARS) was the name of the computer operating system employed by the United Federation of Planets, used aboard Starfleet vessels, starbases and space stations. It was accessible by both voice and keypad commands.
