Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time but who should shape the policies that guide our response? 


In this episode, Eleanor Hughes from GJIA speaks with four voices at the heart of the CINUK research program: Dr. Maeva Gauthier (https://www.linkedin.com/in/maevagaut...) (University of Victoria), Carmen Smith (CINUK Communications & Coordination Team) (  / carmensmith4  ) , and Inuit youth leaders Carmen Kuptana (https://www.cinuk.org/people/carmen-k...) and Eriel Lugt (https://www.cinuk.org/people/eriel-lugt/) from Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories. Together, they explore how climate policy, Indigenous knowledge, and youth leadership intersect. They discuss Canada-Inuit Nunangat-United Kingdom Arctic Research Programme (CINUK) (https://www.cinuk.org/) ’s mission, the insights that emerge through Indigenous storytelling, and the ways Inuit youth are advancing climate advocacy through film, music, and civic engagement. 


The conversation also examines the tangible impacts of climate change on Tuktoyaktuk and closes with a call to global policymakers to address Arctic climate change and better support Inuit communities.
