Hello YouTube! I'm excited to complete the 8th week of my 100-Week Art Challenge. The goal of this challenge is to find my personal artistic voice, transform from an engineer to an artist!

This week I once again ran into a big creative block. I spent days thinking about all of the various types of artworks I had created before, trying to figure out if I should move on to something new.

Over and over again, I have explored an artistic path and eventually had to accept that it was not for me and I should move on to something new.

Therefore, this week I made an illustration about the struggle I had experienced with art, mainly about deciding on which artistic path to embark on, and more importantly which artistic path to actually stay on. Aside from the many confusing paths, there are also a lot of challenges and unexpected obstacles on the way, such as self-doubt, fear, and boredom, which are represented by the spooky yellow eyes in the distance lurking and they repeatedly come at me at the least expected moments.

In short, I believe my frustration with art stems deeply from my continuous efforts focusing solely on applied arts, i.e. the kind of art paths that guarantee a financial return. Little by little, I had to let go of my fear, build up my courage and reestablish my mindset to pursue my personal artistic voice without giving in to financial security or other external interference.

On top of expressing the sense of feeling lost in the pursuit of art, in this video, I also go over the history of my art studies, from childhood to the present, intertwined with my former engineering career.
