Balvenie recently released a brand new single malt whisky to its core range. Rich and Taylor really wanted to see if the whisky lived up to its loft $200 price point so opening a bottle was the obvious course of action.

So what is this 16 years old bottling of Balvenie all about? The nuts of bolts of this Balvenie: it is bottled at 47.6% after aging for 16 years in American oak before being finished in Pineau des Charentes casks. To be honest, we were shocked to learn this release marks the first time Balvenie has ever used French oak for a release in their 130 year old history.

Truth be told, the whisky is delicious but is it worth $200? Watch and find out!
