This theme plays inside Professor Elm’s laboratory, where the player receives their first Pokémon. It is built on a very characteristic melody accompanied by a distinctive counterpoint and a constant offbeat “hi-hat” effect from the noise channel. The second phrase stands out for its syncopated character, which gives the track its particular identity.

I'm Polokus98, and Sounds of Johto is a project dedicated to creating faithful sheet music for the original soundtrack of Pokémon Gold and Silver, transcribed note by note directly from the original Game Boy Color tracks.

The scores were carefully recreated in Sibelius 7, using a custom SoundFont that reproduces the authentic sound of the Game Boy Color, staying as close as possible to the music we all remember.

Este tema suena en el laboratorio del Profesor Elm, donde el jugador recibe su primer Pokémon. Está construido sobre una melodía muy característica acompañada por un contrapunto muy distintivo y un “charles” a contratiempo constante en el canal de ruido. La segunda estrofa destaca por su carácter sincopado, que le da al tema su identidad particular.

Soy Polokus98, y Sounds of Johto es un proyecto dedicado a realizar partituras fieles de la banda sonora original de Pokémon Oro y Plata, transcrita nota por nota a partir de los temas de la Game Boy Color.

Las partituras han sido recreadas en Sibelius 7, utilizando un SoundFont que reproduce con fidelidad el sonido original de la consola, respetando al máximo la esencia de esta música que tantos recuerdos trae.
