Some families even sold cattle and land to invest in OneCoin. The BBC found that the scheme was a multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme. The BBC podcast revealed the shocking and sad stories of the victims of the OneCoin scam. The book also examines the psychology and selling techniques used by OneCoin executives and exposes the deception behind OneCoin.

The OneCoin team was very convincing in attracting investors. It was a scam and a false economy. However, some people were fooled. A few hundred thousand people lost PS220,000 in the scheme, so many investors were disappointed. A lawyer who worked with OneCoin was caught up in the scam, but the case is still ongoing. A lawyer who was convicted of fraud in the scheme was convicted in a bankruptcy court in Portugal.

The Islam brothers retreated from the OneCoin victims in the UK and relocated to Dubai. They promoted other fraudulent companies including Wor(l)d International, Omnia Tech, and Melius. The OneCoin promoters also included Tom McMurrain, who has a deep voice and a criminal past. He was known for aggressive YouTube videos, but the IGNATOV revealed that he opted for a more gradual method.
