BANGALORE: Vasan Eye Care Hospital at RT Nagar in the city is has offered free eye screening camp for children below 15 years of age. The camp is likely to last for 25 days starting tomorrow until November 30th. This was revelead by the panel of ophthalmic experts Dr Parul Priyambada, Dr K M Harshitha and Dr Deeksha Bekal in the presence of school children sourced from neighboring areas of Ganganagar.

Ophthalmic experts spoke at length in the presence of school children on common eye problems faced by children and its care, particularly in the era of screen observation by the student community. Doctors advise the students on the need for eye examination once a year as a precaution to keep eyes healthy. Dr Parul said that in most of the cases children will have to take care of their eyes based on certain symptoms such as irritation, the growth of Myopia and rubbing of retina could be catastrophic in certain cases including headache at a tender age.

Doctors were of the opinion that the regular checkup could be a healthy habit to keep eye care at least once a year. They stated that the common notion that persists that “once you start using an spectacle will eventually lead to increase in power ration, “this is utter rubbish and advised the students to ignore it once and for all.” Experts suggests for indulging in healthy food habits to retain healthy eye care.
