J Boog - Live In Concert - Summer Jam Festival 2024

J Boog is a reggae singer of Polynesian descent, born and raised in California. His soft, sonorous voice and charismatic demeanor make him one of the world's most popular reggae performers in recent years.

Right at the beginning of his career, a chance encounter with Yami Bolo and Gramps Morgan leads J Boog to Jamaica to the studios where Bob Marley, Bobby Digital and Shaggy have already worked. Inspired by this, he refines his sound and style under the guidance of reggae icon George "Fiji" Veikoso.

His debut album "Hear Me Roar" was released in 2007, followed four years later by "Backyard Boogie" with hits such as "Let's Do It Again" and "Sunshine Girl". In 2012, J Boog received the award for best entertainer at the International Reggae And World Music Awards in Chicago for "Backyard Boogie". In 2016, "Wash House Ting" was released, featuring Morgan Heritage and dancehall legend Buju Banton. The album tops the Billboard Reggae album chart and is nominated for Best Reggae Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Already in 2017 there is a nomination for the EP "Rose Petals".

In 2020, in the middle of the Corona pandemic, his 2011 single "Let's Do It Again" suddenly went viral on TikTok – danced by Noah Schnapp from "Stranger Things", among others – and attracted the attention of stars such as Charli D'Amelio and Jason Derulo. The track has over 85 million views on YouTube (as of May 2024) and is still on the iTunes Reggae charts today. In the same year, J Boog had a dance competition for his single "Siva Mai" announced, in which numerous fans and dance groups worldwide participated. His album "Pennies From Heaven" will be released in 2023.

J Boogs has worked with SOJA, Iration, Tarrus Riley and many other reggae stars throughout his career. He tours Europe, Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and the United States and has performed at major festivals such as Cali Roots, One Love NZ, Good Love, Reggae Rise Up, One Love Cali.
