Room 1 — Icelandic: Viking Harbor (YouTube Narrative)
Snow whipped across the harbor, stinging the faces of anyone who dared the icy docks. In the middle of the frozen water, a herd of tropical cows huddled, shivering, bewildered by the Arctic chill. Above them, crystalline towers rose like impossibly modern concert halls, their light refracting through the drifting snow.
Linh, the Vietnamese woman whose memory never forgot a detail, counted softly in Old Norse: “Einn… tveir… þrír…” She tracked the Frost trolls pacing on the cliffs above.
“Step left! Diagonal! Now!” Freya’s voice cut through the wind. Her shaman instincts transformed fear into logic. She directed the villagers, ignoring the icy sting of the snow on her cheeks.
Among the villagers, chaos reigned. Gudrun, a girl with ADHD, darted from dock to dock, trying to help but almost tangling herself in ropes. Bjorn, an anxious fisherman, froze near the edge of the ice, his gaze locked on the trolls. Eirikur, the old fisherman, moved carefully but deliberately, nudging the tropical cows toward safety. And Solveig, pregnant and cautious, rang her bell to warn of the trolls’ movements.
From the cliff emerged the Frost Troll Chieftain, towering and massive. He spoke in riddles that twisted with the wind.
“Three paths you see… only one protects the herd, yet none are safe for the timid.”
Linh’s eyes darted to the docks. “Einn, tveir, þrír… Central dock! Move them there!” She gestured, counting off steps in her head.
The villagers obeyed. Solveig rang the bell. Eirikur guided the cows. Gudrun swung ropes to distract the trolls. Freya whispered strategies, predicting the Frost Troll Chieftain’s next step. Slowly, the trolls were diverted. The herd was safe.
A faint glow erupted from the crystalline towers. The Chieftain, nodding with approval, handed Linh a crystal token. In her palm, the letter C shimmered — the first clue in a series of virtues the team would need to survive the journey ahead.
Snow settled. The aurora danced above the docks. Courage had won this round, but Linh and her companions knew the next room would test them in ways far stranger than snow, trolls, or tropical cows.
