Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland. John Galt Primary School, Inside And Out.

Opened 29th February 1960, and closed at the end of the summer term 2013, John Galt Primary School will be demolished to make way for new housing.

Fortunately, my brother obtained permission to take videos and photos inside (slide show appearing soon), after the kids had gone home. So there will still be a record of it after it's gone, maintaining it's place in History.

Classrooms are in sequence from Room 1 to Room 16, with the GP Room (General Purpose Room) between Room 13 and 14, as it physically is in the school.

I wish I could've taken some of these videos and photos myself, as I haven't been back in there at all since I left in the early 1980's, but work commitments prevented this.

This video is dedicated to everybody who studied, taught, cleaned, cooked and worked in an office there. Everybody!

You will notice that parts of the school have been used as a large store room. It has been in the process of being run down for closure for a while now. A sad state when you consider how many children and adults have attended that school over the years.
