"A Gathering" is a dramatic experiment where three filmmakers, Peter Carlos, Wyatt Weed, and Jay Kelley agreed on a basic story premise and then each took an act of the film and created their own story with their own characters. Each script was then re-written slightly to include elements from the other stories, and a wrap-around was shot. Filmed on miniDV in 2002 with a Canon XL-1 and completed for less than $2000, the project was an important accomplishment for production in the St. Louis area, proving that features, ultra-low budgets, and digital technology were viable in the area. Peter Carlos is a Media Professor at Lindenwood University, Wyatt Weed is a director and editor at Pirate Pictures, and Jay Kelley is a shooter/owner/operator of Dreamwelder Productions. Starring Erica Neal, Michael Ray Reed, Josh Bywater, Ann Kelley, Karen Caradonna, Barrett Graves, Todd Showalter, and Jim Steinbrenner. Music by Dwayne Hilton.
