Signal Report: Delhi Ham Radio VHF Net

Описание к видео Signal Report: Delhi Ham Radio VHF Net

The world's most "hated and loved" Baofeng UV5R handy talkie has been put on a rigorous test by setting its RF power to 2-watt only just for prolonging its juice and most importantly, under Delhi - NCR's harsh heatwave climatic condition. On a single charge I was able to prolong the battery power for more than four days with daily checking into the Delhi VHF Net including brief ragchew. The UV5R has a maximum 4-watts of RF power. After connecting a homebrewed vertical dipole this cheap tiny radio has been favourably resonating signals thus, causing many ham owners of high-end rigs to blush:) Unlike in the US, this UV5R handy talkie does not have any issues with regards to spurious emissions and harmonics in India including several other countries globally. However, I am not sure if all the UV5R handy talkies performs like a charm as the one shown in the video since there are several vendors in that dragon country (China) manufacturing identical counterfeit HTs under the same brand - Baofeng, which is a real challenge to differentiate unless it is put on a real life test performance.

Cheers!
