The hunt continues for a bear that attacked a group of schoolchildren and teachers on Thursday during a field trip in the remote northern B.C. community of Bella Coola. Four people were sent to hospital after the attack – three of them children – and at least two of the victims are in critical condition. Plus, we're learning new details about the teacher's courageous efforts to fight off the bear. Paul Johnson has the latest on the search.

Despite his absence from this year’s G20 summit in South Africa, U.S. President Donald Trump dominated the first day of the two-day summit after leaders learned of the peace plan he wants to force on Ukraine. The White House has given Kyiv until Thursday to accept the 28-point plan, which is widely seen as favourable to Moscow. Ukrainian officials are preparing for direct talks with Washington next week, and Kyiv’s allies at the G20 say the plan “will require additional work.” David Akin explains.

United Nations climate talks in Brazil have reached an agreement to deliver more money to the countries hit hardest by climate change. But the deal does not include an explicit roadmap to phase out fossil fuels. Vincent McAviney reports on the contentious negotiations and why some are calling it a failed agreement.
