I got a call from Toyota Lebanon to review the new Prado and they explicitly said do whatever the heck you want with it, this thing is meant to be driven hard…I took the words quite literally lol. Mud & snow is a challenging terrain but this thing was an absolute monster off-road.

Starts at $58,115 without VAT and registration. The only mechanical benefit you get with the Adventure are rear diff lock and stabilizer disconnect. Otherwise, everything else is mechanically the same. Literally the most affordable proper off-roader on sale.


Thoughts on the 4-cylinder?
2.4L turbo 4 - very smooth and torquey. Fuel consumption came down to nothing - we drove from Hazmieh to Faqra, drifted the living crap out of it, and returned back while using just 1 fuel bar. The old 4.0L V6 needed to go…it’s old technology with high fuel consumption and less power.

Interior?
I LOVE the layout, it feels like home I don’t know how to explain it. The cabin is filled with buttons here and there (my favorite), steering wheel gets a ‘Toyota’ lettering instead of the logo (more premium), and there’s a comfy armrest for the driver’s left hand on the door. Cooler and Apple CarPlay available. AND there’s a split tailgate - your dog will enjoy it.

Verdict
A Toyota will outlive your whole bloodline, retro looks, fits the whole family and extra, off-road capable as advertised, a lot of color options, 4 cylinder could use a bit more punch, horn is funny, it feels like home. I’d buy one.
