Part two --Scott Mendelson got his industry start in 2008 with the film blog, “Mendelson’s Memos.” In 2013, he went to Forbes.com where he specialized in box office punditry; then on to The Wrap. Today, Mendelson publishes The Outside Scoop on Substack.

Keefer Carteen is a KIDS FIRST! Alumni from 2013-16. Under the leadership and guidance of Ranny Levy, Keefer hosted the weekly radio show and filmed reviews incorporating comedy and video effects; which later influences his filmmaking passion. His love for movies followed him to Orange County School of the Arts - Film and Television Conservatory and then to London, England to the MET Film School in Ealing Studios. Since graduating, he has worked on several award-winning films; including being a Production Manager on The Last Call starring Tom Holland and Lindsey Dunchan. He continues to make movies with his friends in London and has no plans to stop.

Talia Jacnuk's journey into the world of film began at KIDS FIRST! in 2016-21. This experience was a pivotal moment in her life, igniting her passion for filmmaking and setting her on the path to a career in media and entertainment. Currently, Talia is a rising senior at the University of Southern California, majoring in Film and Television Production. She serves as the Executive Producer for a USC TV series, where she leads a team in the development and production of television projects. She is also a Media Specialist at UCLA, where she supports various media-related projects and initiatives, contributing her expertise in content creation and management. She also works as a freelance Social Media Producer for the podcast 'Nessa Off Air,' part of Kaepernick Media.

Samantha Marcus graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in International Business. Her journey toward the entertainment industry began with a pivotal role at KIDS FIRST! in 2016, where she worked as a radio show host and film critic. This experience provided Samantha with a unique glimpse into the entertainment world, sparking her passion for marketing and business within this vibrant field. Witnessing Ms. Levy’s remarkable leadership and success at KIDS FIRST! deeply inspired Samantha, positively shaping her professional path, encouraging her to find her voice and make the world a better place. In 2019, Samantha transitioned to a Junior Product Marketing Manager role at KUDO, where she honed her skills in audience engagement and product promotion. Her career trajectory continued at Questex as an Associate Marketing Manager, where she applied her event marketing experience from KIDS FIRST! to promote pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Building on her foundation, she became an Audience Development Specialist at Questex, further expanding her expertise in marketing and audience retention. Now, Samantha aims to channel her diverse experiences into a career in business development in the entertainment industry. Her early immersion in the field and her growth across various marketing roles uniquely position her to make a significant impact in shaping the future of entertainment.

Ryan Rivera is a KIDS FIRST! Alumni from 2015 to 2020. His passion for film began in childhood, and when he heard about the KIDS FIRST! Film Critics, he eagerly joined the program. Throughout his time at KIDS FIRST! he learned the importance of analyzing and critiquing films. In 2015, his review of The Good Dinosaur was featured on ABC News, marking an early milestone in his career. Ryan's interest in filmmaking continued to grow as he was accepted into Connecticut College. During his time at Conn, he has contributed to numerous award-winning short films, including Muddy Waters: Ladder to Recovery and his most recent project, Those Who Don’t. Now a rising senior, Ryan is ready to work on his next projects.

Carlee Spagnolo is a KIDS FIRST! Alumni (2020-23). She is a college student studying Environmental Science. Carlee grew up acting in local theater and short films, working as an extra, and making short films with a school club. Her interest in the entertainment industry and her love of watching films and TV shows is what drew her to KIDS FIRST! In addition to amazing opportunities in the film industry, she gained valuable communication and critiquing skills. She was exposed to a variety of films and gained an interest in various aspects of filmmaking such as CGI, directing, and storytelling. Carlee was particularly drawn to films involving nature and the environment. A nature lover all her life, she decided this was her path to pursue. She feels the media is a valuable tool to deliver both entertainment and information about issues, such as the environment and hopes to combine her interests in film and environmental issues.
