Description:  This session is a follow on to Bob Lavigna’s Building a Culture of Employee Engagement presentation at the last Forum. Bob Lavigna of CPS will present this action-oriented session. The presentation will reaffirm the business case for employee engagement: Increased Engagement results in Increased Performance; and it will focus on specific steps State leaders can take to increase engagement in their organizations and to prepare for participation in CalHR’s 2017 Statewide Employee Engagement Survey. The session will acquaint leaders with the key drivers of engagement; tools to measure improved performance; ways to overcome barriers to engagement; and how engagement fits within an overall Talent Management Strategy. It will share lessons learned from the State of California’s initial employee engagement efforts, and it will present highlights from CPS’s recent national poll assessing employee engagement in 2000 public and private sector organizations.
