How To Replace Valve Cover Gasket Citroen DS5 1.6 THP 155, (DS3, DS4, Peugeot 3008, 5008, RCZ etc)

No nonsense guide on replacing the Valve Cover Gasket (VCG) in Prince engines. This one is a Citroen DS5 with the 1.6 THP, EP6. This should be the same on the Citroen DS3, DS4, Peugeot 3008, 5008, RCZ, Mini R55, R56, and BMWs with the N12 and N14 engine.

While the valve cover is off please check all timing components for wear, it is a very common issue in these engines. The timing chain should have zero play or slack in it. It is usually caused by long oil change intervals of more than 10,000km. Please change your oil every 5,000 - 7,500km. Early signs are a rattle sound on cold start. If you catch it early enough you may only need to replace the chain tensioner, if left too long you will need to replace the timing chain itself. Also check for any broken plastic pieces.
