Crash Tag Team Racing was Radical Entertainment's first taste of the Crash Bandicoot Series and as such, it was expected a lot from them. The game is unique in that it combines platforming and racing, although it didn't succeed entirely in either one of these genres in terms of familiarity with the previous games. But it's save to say that the complete lack of linearity, tons of content to unlock, variety of mini-games and side missions compensated this. Ultimately, the option to "clash" your car with another and making a whole new vehicle with different tricks and features is a thoughtful, innovative and never-seen-before mechanic.
