Former US defence secretary William Cohen expects Israel to retaliate to Iran’s attack in the “next 24 or 48 hours” and “possibly” target nuclear.

The Middle East is on the brink of an all-out war after Iran’s missile attack on Israel.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to retaliate, saying Tehran will pay.

“They have indicated that they are going to respond swiftly,” Mr Cohen told Sky News Australia.

“I expect it will be within the next 24 or 48 hours and that they will go forward and try and target military sites, silos, other weapons productions facilities … and possibly nuclear.”
